Devil’s Kitchen – Reborn

Chris Mounsey, the leader of LPUK and top-level blogger The Devil’s Kitchen made an appearance on The Daily Politics today. The subsequent interview that took place could only be described as a mugging. Andrew Neill had no interest in discussing libertarian politics at all, he just went after Chris for the size of the membership (err… small party anyone?), and after that he started to bring up comments made on the Kitchen website. It didn’t make good TV. There isn’t really any need to go over the whole story again, especially since you can find a whole range of comments here, here, here, here, and here. I thought the whole 5 minutes was disgraceful, Neill had no intention of asking anything relevant or serious, he just wanted his pound of flesh. I do understand why some people might not like the tone Devil’s Kitchen as a blog (indeed I replied to Simon Goldie who wrote on exactly the same topic yesterday) but Chris Mounsey appeared on the programme as leader of the LPUK, not as his alter-ego.

After a bit of fretting by the assembled twitterati, the Devil has resurfaced with a new-look blog (on the same URL). The reasons for the change are all in the first post. I for one am looking forward to reading every new post, and hope this draws a line under what must have been a pretty shitty day for the Devil. Let battle recommence!

Oops! Should have updated it a while a go when I shifted over from Blogger. A job for tonight while I’m half-watching the debate!
